Boot Raspberry Pi 3 Off ISCSI

Posted on

Hey Thrifty Nation!

I caught myself staring at my raspberry pi 3 today and then… my eyes started wandering over to my 42u server rack where my freenas server is and I thought to myself… hmmm

I ran across a project called BerryBoot that allows you to install multiple operating systems to a single micro sd card and choose which one to boot, which in of itself is great for the raspberry pi as a tinkering platform, it really fits

but berry boot also allows you to install to an iscsi target!

I used freenas to provide the iscsi target making this project very easy. I won’t go into exactly how to setup an iscsi server in this video,

but  I just wanted to show you that this is possible and I think its very zippy!

I hope you enjoyed this video, thumbs up and subscribe… if you liked this video please consider going over to patreon.com/thethriftyworkshop and supporting the channel.
